80s Djs and mobile discos
For a great 80’s party DJ
call Pro Mobile Disco. Pro Mobile DJ
Jim Costello made his first DJ appearance in 1978 and
has performed at hundreds of 80's parties many of which were
actually in the 1980's. The 1980's was the golden age for
cheesy pop, when acts like Madonna, Kylie, Duran Duran, Mel
and Kim, Rick Astley, all toped the charts. The 80's also
saw the advent of dance music with attitude. House music emerged
first from Chicago and Detroit and later evolved into UK acid
house and rave music. The Manchester sound from bands like
stone roses and the happy mondays influenced many brit pop
bands of the 90's. Unfortunately some acts had less street
cred as the decade also produce more than its share of dodgy number
1’s like Joe Dolcies shut up a ya face or The firm’s star
trekking, not forgetting from spitting image the classic chicken
song.
Film soundtracks were big, Top gun took our breath away and
the kids from fame couldn't stop themselves from jumping on
the nearest car to start strutting their stuff. Songs from
films like footloose, flash dance, cocktail and dirty dancing
filled the charts as well as the dance floors. New wave was
the new thing in the early eighties as was jazz funk but the
80’s will be best remembered for pop tunes. Almost all DJ's
know certain Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson tracks will
fill the floor at many wedding or family parties but what
to play next is the tricky bit.
